Founder background

Be01 was founded by Sungjoon Steve Won. Prior to starting the studio, Sungjoon Steve has spent 14 years in the industry. From large corporations to growing start-ups, he has helped design, incubate, and bring new products to life. You may have seen or used the founder's past work from

Part of the leadership team, helping the start-up grow from around 50 to ~300 and build a one-of-a-kind productivity platform for docs as powerful as an app. Focused on platform, ecosystem, experience for teams, and monetization.

Founded and built a new team on incubation and new product development as its Head of Incubation Studio. Also served as Head of design for emerging products.

Helped build and pushed new initiatives in two of the biggest platforms in the world, Office and Windows 10.

Designed phones, tablets, and wearables in the most exciting era in mobile. Helped define what the Galaxy series is today.

His work has received awards from Good Design, iF design award, & IBM and has been shown at international venues such as ACM CHI & London Design Biennale.

Great product captures value that is clear, direct, and simple. We strive to solve hard problems with effortlessly easy to understand solutions, like drawing a straight line (or a 1) from A to B.

When we discover something that works, we want it to spread. So we create programmable solutions built on 0's, 1's and bits so that ideas are set up to scale.
